Nautical style decking

Besides multi-million dollar construction projects, Arcbuild also bring their expertise to smaller projects too. This is one of those projects.

Arcbuild were commissioned to install a deck on a seaside house. The deck planking featured a king plank where the planking joins on the corner. King planks are usually found on a laid teak deck in the bow of a boat. The inclusion of this little detail imparts a nautical theme to the deck and helps reflect the sea-side location of the house.

King planks are deceptively difficult to get right and require high levels of accuracy and attention to detail. But the team at Arcbuild are adept at good old-fashioned craftsmanship, so naturally, the client was very happy with the result.
